3、Zheng He’s voyages ...
-
Zheng He\'s voyages to the West are the largest sea voyage in ancient China with the largest number of ships and seafarers and the longest time. It is also the largest series of Sea Explorations in the world history before the great geographical discovery in Europe at the end of the 15th century. However, there are still controversies about the purpose and scope of Zheng He\'s fleet and the evaluation of its seven voyages.
From 1399 to 1402, Zhu Di, the founder of the Ming Dynasty of the king of Yan, finally conquered Yingtian (now Nanjing), the capital of the state, for the reason of \"calming down the rebellion\". Zhu Yunwen, the emperor of Jianwen, burned the Imperial Palace and disappeared. Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty became emperor and changed his name to Yongle. However, he may still worry about the disappearance of emperor Jianwen and the escape of his remaining officials. In the historical documents of the Ming Dynasty, there are some rumors that emperor Jianwen might not have been burned to death, but fled overseas. There are even stories about monks returning to Beijing 20 years later. Therefore, some people think that Emperor Yongle sent Zheng He to the West because he was looking for emperor Jianwen. However, such a view is not necessarily true, because every time Zheng He makes an overseas mission, he is so powerful. If emperor Jianwen does not die overseas, he should be able to smell the wind and hide himself. It is not an effective way to search for emperor Jianwen on a large scale.
In June 1405, eunuch Zheng He was ordered to go to the West for the first time. When passing through manabaxie state, the East and West kings of the country were at war, and the West King mistakenly killed the crew of Zheng He\'s fleet. After the incident, the king sent envoys to apologize. In view of the West King\'s pleading and punishment, zheng he restrained the incident. The latter two countries can live in harmony. In sanfoqi old port, zheng he summoned local pirate Chen Zuyi, who pretended to surrender and attempted to attack Zheng He\'s fleet. Zheng, he defeated him, killed more than 5000 enemy people, burned down ten enemy ships, captured seven enemy ships, and captured Chen Zuyi and three others alive. Later, Zheng He appointed Shi Jinqing, an overseas Chinese from Guangdong, as the head of the old port. On September 13, 1407, the envoys of Zheng ZULE were sent back to prison in 1407. Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty ordered the killing of Chen Zuyi and other three people. He also pardoned the West King who had made an apology. He was satisfied with Zheng He\'s trip and rewarded the meritorious officers and soldiers in the battle of Jiugang.
After returning to China, Zheng He immediately made preparations for a second voyage, which was mainly to send foreign envoys home on a small scale. In the summer of 1409, Zheng He\'s fleet returned to Korea.
The other voyages Zheng took were not as distinct as those I wrote in 3 and 4 paragraphs, so now I will introduce Zheng He and his voyages ‘influence.
“Zheng He\'s voyages to the West strengthened the exchange of civilizations between China and foreign countries, and left behind geographical works and nautical charts that introduced the situation of coastal countries and regions.”
----from 360 Encyclopedia
In my opinion, Zheng is a hero, because he has made a great work. Whatever people thought about him or his voyages, he really did lots of efforts to spread Chinese culture and brought many new things to ancient China, and the most greatest thing is, this big event happened much earlier than great maritime fever in the West, Zheng not only showed that he had a strong will but also showed the Glory of Ming Dynasty.
