Extra Story 3
Back to the present.
Shi Qi pulled a bitter, self-mocking smile. He lowered his gaze, ready to leave, to brush past Feng Yi. He raised his hand to grasp the doorknob — but Feng Yi caught him in an instant.
Shi Yi froze, then glared at him. “What?”
“I said we’d talk.” Feng Yi stared at him, his grip tightening slightly.
“Talk my ass.” Shi Qi jerked his hand, trying to pull free. But that bastard was too strong; there was no escaping him.
Shi Qi gave up struggling, his attitude cold and dismissive. “Fine. Say what you want.”
Feng Yi pulled him a little closer, looking straight into his eyes.
“I want to get back together with you.”
Shi Qi let out a sharp, mocking laugh. “Boss Feng, since when do you tell outdated jokes like this?”
“I’m not joking. I mean it.” Feng Yi’s usually cold face softened into pleading. He held Shi Qi’s hands tightly. “Shi Qi… I love you.”
“Get lost.” Shi Qi couldn’t even be bothered to roll his eyes. He just wanted to be as far from this man as possible.
“Shi Qi.” Feng Yi took a deep breath. “Calm down and listen to me.
A few months ago… everything I said, everything I did — it was all a lie.
I never cheated on you. I never married anyone. Don’t believe what anyone says.”
Shi Qi looked at him coldly for a long moment. “And why should I believe you?”
“I…” Feng Yi hesitated, then continued. “Because I’m your boyfriend. I swear — from now on, I’ll tell you everything. No more lies. No more secrets. As long as you…”
He pressed his lips together and looked at Shi Qi sincerely.
“As long as you’re still willing to trust me.”
“…” Shi Qi said nothing. He just stayed silent.
Feng Yi didn’t push. He waited quietly.
“Go on, then.” Shi Qi tilted his head, leaning back against the sink with a faint smile. “Let me hear if it’s actually worth believing.”
Feng Yi breathed out in relief, seeing a chance to fix things. He smiled faintly.
“Okay.
A few months ago, my father found out about me and a guy. He locked me up for days, called me a disgrace, suspended me from work.
To be with you — truly, freely, without anyone controlling me — I had to make the lie real.
When I said those things to you… my father’s men were there. I had no choice. I had to act that way.
These past few months, I fought so hard to break free from my father’s control… just to see you again.
I know none of this excuses lying to you… hurting you…”
“Shi Qi…” Feng Yi looked at him, full of regret. “I’m sorry.”
“…” Shi Qi was quiet for a long time, then suddenly curled his lip.
“So that’s your big reason for forgiveness? A little too cliché and boring, don’t you think?”
“I know you might not believe me.” Feng Yi stepped closer. “But that’s okay. I can wait. I’ll wait as long as it takes.”
As long as you’ll still have me. As long as you’ll still trust me.
Shi Qi didn’t look at him. He opened the door and left.
He glanced at Lin Jiao, who had been standing outside the door for who knew how long, then walked away quickly.
